Soil Testing, Fertilizing and Aeration
In addition to sunlight and water, lawns and gardens require optimal soil conditions in which to grow.
Soil provides nutrients and serves as a foundation for your plants. For the best results in gardening, soil needs the proper pH level, which is measurement of how acidic or alkaline it is. The pH level is measured on a scale from 1 to 14, with below 7 being acidic and above 7 alkaline. In addition to determining the pH level, a soil test will indicate which elements are missing from your soil.
Once you understand the type of soil you have, we can discuss various ways of improving it. If your soil is too acidic, we can remedy it with the addition of lime. We also offer both organic and conventional fertilizing.
If your soil is too dense and compacted, it can reduce the oxygen flow and nutrients that reach your plants’ roots, resulting in poor growth. We can resolve this problem with aeration, which involves perforating the soil with small holes to allow air, water and nutrients to penetrate the roots.
Once you get to know your soil, you can leave the guesswork out and provide exactly what it needs for the perfect lawn and garden!
